    Fretworn's custom ST-1 (12 string)

Time to start my next adventure. This baby arrived direct from China on my birthday! This will probably be the last guitar I get to make for a while, so I plan to go all out and make sure this is special. Pretty standard ST-1 kit, except for the neck and the 12 string whammy bridge (I didn't even know they made those). I'll be blocking that as I can't imagine ever wanting to use a whammy on a 12-string. The headstock will need to be evened up.

The electrics will all get changed. I'm planning on using Gibson's Explorer III wiring, but we'll see how that goes.

Yeah Wokks, it's a custom pitbull kit (thanks Adam). I've been a bit non-committal on finishes. I had been leaning on trying a Black/Green burst, but then Eliot gazumped the idea, and I would want to a test first to see if I could actually get a burst to work. I have also messed around with the idea of doing a "tuxedo" finish (black body, white pickguard, black pickups etc) but I want to get a good look at the body in sunlight before I make any decisions.

Yet the bridge is a bit full on, but is similar to the Gotoh 12 string bridges except this is, inexplicably, a whammy bridge. So I will have to make some small wedges to block the bridge. And I think I will definitely have to replace the nut as it has been cut for the incorrect Rickenbacker stringing (octave string below standard string) instead of the correct 12 string configuration (octave string above standard string).

nice one Fretty, so the thinner string should be above the thicker string right ?
is your nut slotted the other way ?

Fretty that is going to be a nice build
dont know what the string tension effect from twelve strings would be, but on my old strats I used 5 springs with a cheap 5 string claw screwed all the way onto the body and you couldn't budge the bridge from hard down on the body.
