    Lawry's ES-3

I'm back. Did you miss me? Nah, probably not.
Well, I had pretty well resolved not to build anymore guitars and stick to valve amps but, after seeing the ES-3 on such an amazing Sunday Special price a few months ago, I couldn't help myself. In fact, it was my wife who said 'that's cheap, you should get it'. And being a devoted husband, I did as I was told. Anyway, the humidity has finally settled in Mackay so now it's time to build. At first look all seemed sweet apart from a couple of small depressed lines across the fretboard, and a neck heel that didn't quite fit squarely into the cavity. So, after some gentle sanding (with 180 grit and a rasp!), that problem seems to be OK now. I also did some wet ragging and found that there were no glue issues around the binding - excellent. I've given the whole thing a quick 400 sanding and already I'm impressed. Roll on next weekend.

I've seen your stable of projects, Woks, and you're gonna need more than a month to get that stack under control.

Cool looking tobacco burst tele in your profile pic, Stan. How'd I miss that?

Just when you thought you were out... welcome back mate.

The sides on the kit look really nice, sadly my ES-3 is still stuck in the 'to-do' pile (one day). I wonder if those fretboard lines will partially steam out with a damp cloth and soldering iron?
    Scott.

It's cool to see some very familiar mates still here. I feel like a returning prodigal.
You still into solving the world's worst wiring requirements, Wierdy.
And as for your amp design, Pest... It was just too damn insanely convoluted that even Scott would've gone nuts trying to put that together.

Haha but you agreed to it!!!

In all seriousness, can you actually design some amps for me?

Better off chatting about the design in an email so I can access it at school. I'll pm you my email address
