    4D original shape ST-1

G'day all, been a while since I did a build diary or updated one. This project is a shared one myself and 4D buddy Wayne came up with the shape cut from a ST-1 body. I got the idea from Barge's ST-1M build he modified.
Here's pics after the shaping and sanding a primer coat applied ready for solid paint.
The shape I've updated a while ago in the 4D logo in the signature

got some good feedback from DB when he saw the shape, decided to round the upper horn to make the shape more flowing (I still need to update our logo to reflect this)
Pics it's had 2 coats of metallic blue paint. Pretty happy how it's come up so far

here's a few more pics and on the hanging line. I ended up getting 2 dodgy spray cans that leaked about half the paint out the stem, must have had a dodgy valve. So it was hard to get a good even spray out of the can. Waiting for 2 replacement cans and hopefully don't have the same problem. The colour is Mazda winning blue. First coat made a mess of the pavers in the workshop, oh well paint on the pavers makes it look more like a workshop now !
Haven't got a neck or hardware for this body yet but thinking white pickguard and a maple fingerboard neck. Will decide whether gold or chrome hardware later.

Rad shape, rad colour. I think gold hardware might be a bit OTT for this one, but white pickguard and maple neck sounds tasty.

great work Wokka, love the logo change, so this will be a signature shape?
You do put your paint cans in warm water first? Stops that spitting effect you can get sometimes...
    Nice job

cheers Nicko, the photos were taken just after the second coat as there wasn't much daylight left at the time.

Hi Stan cheers mate. Just experimenting with shapes at the moment so will probably do another variation next time. Thanks for the tips re warm water but it wasn't the nozzle that was the problem, the paint was coming out the tiny stem underneath the nozzle every time I shook the can after the seal was cracked
