    Waiting.

Finished my first ever build, and have now ordered my first Pitbull guitar, a TLA-1. While the order was processed and posted on the day I ordered it, I now have to wait for Aust Post to deliver. The weekend in between doesn't help, (could have started the sanding process) so possibly Monday or Tues.

While browsing came across this site which may be of interest to some, mainly for ideas. Beautiful craftsman. http://bluestoneguitars.com.au/html/HOME.html

Oh, and a huge thank-you to all who helped in my build by answering the questions of a novice builder.

    A couple of pics:

That natural top has come up a treat. Love it.

The top is just sanded, up to 1500 grit, and dare I say it, finished with multiple coats of True Oil, wet sanding 1500 between coats. the rest of guitar is finished the same, but stained maple on neck, jarrah on the back and front of headstock.

Thanks every one for the kind words.

Stan, while I'm proud of my first attempt at building, It doesn't meet the criteria for the comp. ie not a Pitbull kit, and also has a Gibson decal on the headstock, which I now regret placing there, as I have now designed my own. Not to hard to change in the future 'tho.

Wokkaboy, it has all standard hardware that was supplied in the kit, except Orange drop caps fitted and all wiring upgraded from the piddly little stuff supplied in the kits and braided shielded cable. A friend has played it, as i don't play, and commented that it sounds very sweet. He plays a lot of jazz guitar and the action suited him fine, although I thought it may have been a little high. He was also happy with the intonation. Overall he said he would like to have it in his collection of guitars.

Just hope the next build comes out as good

nice one Jeff, its a hard kit for a first build, and you must know something about setup and intonation if your friend gave it the thumbs up !
Yeah get rid of the Gibbo logo and put your own on the headstock as you built it !
