    My first Pitbull JR-1DC

    Hi everybody,
Now this is my first Pitbull kit I have purchased. For Christmas 2014 I brought my son a LP kit from another Australian Kit site. My son Patrick and I proceeded to build this over the Christmas break and this is how it finished up.

After building this fine looking axe we were hooked so I looked around for a LP Junior and came across Pitbull Guitars.
It has now been about three weeks since I started sanding the bejesus out of it...sanding, sanding and more sanding down to 240 as recommended by Wudtone.
I got some Carmine Gypsy as the main colour and a bottle of Hot Auburn.
The back and neck of the guitar are Carmine Gypsy and for the front I have combined the Carmine Gypsy with the hot Auburn for a subtle burst effect. It didn't quite work out the way I had expected but looks spectacular anyway.
These are images of the front and back of the body after the final coats of Wutone:

I am about to start the many coats of Tru-Oil.

I have decided to mod out this guitar. I have ordered a Bare Knuckles "Supermassive" P90 and asked Shaun Fricker of www.guitarsauce.com.au to make me a custom wiring harness for my Junior. It has two Mojo Dijon caps, a 22uf and a 47uf cap. It has a push/pull volume pot. It the down (normal) position the signal goes through the 22uf and in the up position goes through the 47uf capacitor. A virtual neck pickup.

I will post some more photos as the build progresses.
    thanks,
    Simon

Hey Simon is that a gold top Les Paul? Where did you get the Gold paint?

It's Dymark Revolution Enamel aerosol Spray ( https://www.dymark.com.au/products/23003205 ), with several coats of Revolution Clear on top. Purchased from Bunnings. Some will say that spraying guitar a solid colour like this will kill the tone, but I installed an EMG active 81/85 humbucker set in this Gold Top Les Paul and it absolutely ROCKS!

So yes it is a Gold Top but not with the genuine Gibson paint.

That is such nice wiring with the harness. Why didn't you have a go yourself?

I've always had a soft spot for Jr's. Keen to see this develop mate. Bareknuckles are amazing pups.

Yes it is a nice wiring harness. Soldering is not really my strongest skill and I saw Shaun's workmanship on his site and knew that I had to get him to make my custom electrics.

    The Jr's looking good Simon.

Should sound great with that pickup and those wiring mods. I have a Lollar P90 in mine with standard wiring and it sounds awesome.

The Jnr is looking amazing! What motivated the choice to go Tru-Oil rather than the Wudtone clear coats? Just wondering. She's gonna be an amazing axe with that kickass wiring harness and pup. Awesome stuff.

    cheers,
    Gav.
