I couldn't imagine EVER wanting to mix an entire show from an ipad, call me old fashioned, but I just don't trust computers that much.
If you had a cheap little system doing a small venue, yeah why not, but when you've got tens (even hundreds) of thousands of dollars worth of PA gear at stake I don't think you'll ever replace a physical desk.
As an interface on the other hand...wow, I'd buy one just for all those ins, great price too. Too bad it's a Behringer:-(

Hey Barge , I realise most people are scared of using wireless technology . But I think you'd be surprised just how many Pros use wireless mixers at gigs ,and in particular wireless control is used in so many recording studios. If you check Out a Steven Slates MTX it's like a massive Ipad touch screen for slider control.http://www.slateproaudio.com/videos/. You can also link your iPad and iPhone to it to work on personal mixes in the recording studio and live . Mind you who wants to let the megalomaniac band member loose on the mix lol. Great for personal monitor mixes though. And we've all had that behringer piece of equipment that's haunted us . But ive also had pieces of behringer that's work everyday and I've seen a few in pro studio settings the https://www.storedj.com.au/products/BEH-ADA8000 Being one and the much improved https://www.storedj.com.au/Search?Pr...ch=BEH-ADA8200 with Midas pre amps.. Behringer has now bought out Midas one of the best audio gear manufacturers you can buy . IF you check out there new gear they have mic pres designed by Midas. But I agree Barge the new XR mic pres are excellent for recording situations . My Buddy Russel has one setting up two mics on an acoustic adjusting the level while listening through headphones while moving mic around to get best sound . Moving sliders up and down all without having to walk away from the guitar, and back to the mixing desk was amazing and the mic pre amps for the price are really good. Where else can you buy a 12 input mixer with 4 mic pres that you can also use as a recording interface to any computer has wifi and Ethernet connection controlled from an iPad for $299.00 . Mind you by the time the greedy importers here get there hands on it who knows what it will cost in Oz. Barge I was at Soundtown listening to the original mix tracks of Led Zeppelin 2 on a Behringer X32 I was blown away with quality and there updating the firmware all the time. Since hearing the X32 Ive re looked at Behringer products as some have gotten so much better.

I guess I'm just speaking from personal experience regarding wifi (especially the 2.4 GHz) I've never had much luck (actually it's rubbish) around the home running various bits of hardware (NAS boxes and the like) so I find it hard to imagine putting my faith in operating expensive PA gear via a wifi connection.
Obviously people are using it, and I can definitely see the benefits though.
Same with the Behringer gear, I've had a few bad experiences but I'm sure they're getting better.
Are those interfaces not available here yet?

Hey Barge the only one I've seen so far is the one my buddy's had that he bought in the us .
It's a sad situation sometimes . That it's cheaper to buy music products in the USA pay the postage and still get

Seems Kozmic are doing the xr18 for $1299.00 which seems expensive it's $699.00 in the US at Sweetwater that equates to approx Aus $909.00
