Yeah thanks Kimball I think my brain just melted when I looked at the chart. I really don't think I have a rule that goes to, how many decimal points was that... :P
I've always had issues with getting the bridge location right. a couple of build using Tune-o-matic style bridges I've had to file the post holes to get the clearanec I needed.
Cheers PK
Now I'm gunna go back to re-re-learning Itchycoo Park. 40 years after I'd forgotten how to play it...

I have been using the Stewmac calculator for ever and have not had any issues.
The problem that guy had was not the SM calc, it was the fact he used a slipshod oops hipsh#t bridge.... They are CRAP.
Also, if you read the print at the bottom of the calc it gives you positions for the most common types and brands of bridges that SM sell and that most serious Luthiers use.
If you want to set any other bridge, do the right thing and measure your scale length from the centre of the actual 12th fret.
Had this guy done that, his slipslop bridge would be in the correct place...... But he would still have a really crappy bridge.....
so DB sounds like Slipshod are pretty high up on the DB banned product list, whats the sentence for using a hipsh#t bridge is it worse than using nitro or polyurethane finishes ?

Hey Kells , itchycoo park great track .i saw steve marriott by accident with Humble Pie always liked the faces but hadn't listened to much of Humble Pies stuff . He appears on stage tiny guy les paul was nearly as big as him . Then he started playing everyone
just stood in awe ,the power of his voice blew me away . Then he sang a song called Black Coffee . First time I'd heard a white guy sing with such a soulful voice check this out . If you work out the riffs n chords let me know. The guy didn't need a microphone.

Unfortunately he died after he had just recorded a new album ,sadly never to see the light of day . Dropped a cigarette in bed burnt his house down . They also said he was bumped off as he owed a lot of money to gangsters ref gambling, I don't believe personally that . He lived about 10 miles away from me when I lived in UK. Stunning talent great loss.
This interview will give you a giggle

Yeah I'd go with the good old scale length with a ruler rule. I actually fixed a $20 kids Strat for my sister by using it, 1.5cm makes the world of difference!
