Just wondering if a kit based on the Brian May Red Special has ever been considered?
It's been brought up a few times, I thnk this is the most recent discussion.
Scott.
I still wish they would do this... Infact, i was the last person on here to mention it. Even if it wasn't a kit of THE Red Special but a Brian May Special (BMG) I would still buy several kits.
It'd be cool to build a Brian May Special, or two, cause I know a friend who would love to own one, he's into the band Queen.
If anybody's in doubt about Brian Mays talent as a guitarist and Queen as a band I was at this concert . In honesty I went to watch other bands perform, not a fan of queen but came away thinking jeez just one guitarist can achieve that sound . Blew me away. Became a fan

What's really amazing is that Brian May and his dad designed the very first Red Special from scratch, I read somewhere that he carved the neck out of a solid piece of wood, with nothing else except a penknife, he and his dad designed the trem system, the arm was a piece of metal rod from a bicycle attachment, he and his dad were certainly smart cookies.
Apparently Brian uses an English Sixpence for a plectrum.
The body of the first Red Special was made from a piece of Mahogany cut from a piece of wood from a fireplace.
Yeah certainly does use silver sixpences fans used to send them in for him to use.
I've made pics out of expired credit cards, seems to work surprisingly well, all you need is a pic to use as a template, a sharpie waterproof marker to trace round the pic with, and a sharp pair of scissors to cut out the new pic, note: make sure the card is well and truly expired before you cut it up to make a pic first, you don't want to have to wait up to a fortnight to gain access to your money while you wait for a new card to come in the mail.
