    LP1-M 2nd Special

So started the LP I got with the chipped binding. ( fixed by sanding back pocket front which also made the neck fit a bit better)
Doing for a Mates son for christmas ( three of these to do now).
    First colour coat of colourtone.
There is a few glue spots but I gave this a fair sand ( through the cap in two areas on edge) and was very hesitant to do any more, so will have to do something to cover that up.
Will be silver or black hardware and still working out wether to do dark burst.

My vote would be black hardware and keep it without the burst.

Love that colourtone stuff. It's so vibrant!

Tony, yeah agree with Nick, black hardware but a really thin dark burst around the edge could look cool

    Thanks guys.

So had a go at a blended burst and happy with result, and now definately black is the colour for the hardware, so will order today.

Looking great, the blue is nice and intense. As a matter of interest have you decided what you will finish over the Colourtone?

Wokka, looking at using standard kit pickups and as have the three different styles of black pickup will match what looks best as it gets closer to done.
Andrew at the risk of naughty room membership ( trying to avoid that as the airfares are a killer from Qld)will probably use the banned substance again as I was really happy with my ES finish.

sounds like a good plan Tony. Presume you mean tru oil clear coats. Its getting crowded in the naughty room and I'm not getting much building done all I seem to be doing is pouring pints for new members haha

Nick the colourtone is a good product but the quality of caps that I have gotten on the last three capped guitars have been really good and I think thats why the colourtone comes up so nicely. My LP7 didnt turn out anything like this with colourtone (not much flame and glue I wont be able to get out) and will end up painted.

    Yeah it a shame mate.

I'm so nervous about what the top on my IB7 I ordered will be like.

    Hoping for a miracle.
