Thread: Andys Build #5 : ST-1 "Wildwina"

  1. #1
I'm back....My first build for quite a while.

This is my first commissioned build, a bog standard ST-1, in natural timber with a purple burst.
The "Wildwina" refers to her nickname, which she has tattooed on her foot. She wanted me to replicate the tattoo on to the guitar body, to personalise it for her.

The paintwork is all sprayed acrylic lacquer, after initial grain filling and much sanding.
The neck has a satin/matt finish, whereas the body and headstock are cut and polished to a high gloss.

This is the first build to sport my new logo.
Currently working on commissioned build #2, an Explorer in metallic blue with black burst.
Nice to be back, and getting my hands dirty again!!

I agree with Wokks, what an amazing effect and I really like the dragonfly/nickname.
HTF do you manage applying a large decal like that so perfectly?

Amazing job Andy! Great to have you back in the forums, and to have you building. This one is just so cool. Love the contrast between colour amd natural, and your work with the logo just completes it!
