Thread: Jazzmaster / Mustang

  1. #1
I was in a big guitar shop in Sydney over the long weekend and was checking out some Jazzmasters and Mustangs; basically the Fenders with the P90-ish pickups (they use flatter, wider single coils but still hotwound so they're similar to P90s). I love the sound of a snarly single coil and the warmth of both in middle position, and think something like the JM1 but with a pair of P90s would be a great kit. What do you guys think?

    Hey Steve,

It is actually already possible to order a JM variant kit that includes two soapbar P90s instead of the 2 single coils and the humbucker. Just get in touch with Adam directly.

    cheers,
    Gav.

seriously, what other jazzmaster/mustang options are available, how much do they cost, and how long would ordering one take?

Ben, you can order pretty much any configuration you like and, as long as you don't alter the body shape or add 24-carat gold plated hardware, the price will be around the $180 mark. Delivery is roughly 3 months.

    Cheers

sounds good. i was wondering about altering the body shape cos from the completed kits ive seen, the horns are a bit more curvey and strat like than the real jazzmasters, but this would be something id change myself.

ill have a think about what configuration im after and get back to you
