So picked up the LP-1M from PBG HQ the other day...

Looks great - the main issue as I found later was a bit of a glue spot...

Glue spot runs from the bridge pickup down through the controls...

    Any thoughts?

hey Bman, whats the stain looks a bit too dark for karajini red. As Gavmeister says there's a ton of glue on the cap. Its always a lottery with the amount of glue on these kits. Have a look at the pup cavity for the thickness of the cap but generally they are less than 1mm thick so there's not much you can do without sanding through the cap. You could try very lightly a wire brush but a good chance you will brush through the veneer. My spalty LP has a bit of glue on the cap but not this much

Those glue marks looks a bit tricky.. personally I would try and remove with light abrasion (super fine wire wool or 400 grit paper?) then work backwards to heavier grade if necessary, being mindful at all times in the thinness of the cap...

WOW now that's nasty some glue spots. Think with the thickness of those caps you may some trouble getting rid of that glue.
You could always make it a feature somehow?

Yep - cap here's a veneer - looks like sub 1mm... Colours are a mix of black and red StewMac stains. What you see is post hitting it hard with a wire brush and adding stain at the same time...
May need to learn to love it.

haha maybe Bman can drag the body behind a bike on gravel DB, isn't that the relic'd method ?
no worries DB 2 pints of the best coming up, 11.3% Belgian quadruple strong ale ! - I just worked out thats 10.1 standard drinks !
I'll get AJ to add a couple of chillies to the pizza and serve a cup of concrete with it !
