Found a Uke kit on Gumtree - guy wanted $15 for it. Figured I can't go wrong for $15.

Turns out it's a Grizzly H3125 Ukulele kit - not flash - made up of laminates, etc and retails for ~$30 US.

Dry build of it with most of the bits on board goes like this:

    Calling this project "Eliot".

So we put our heads together and have a think about what we can do...
    Stage 1. Binding.
Photo doesn't show, but the top and bottom are just laminate - looks like 3 ply with mahogany on the top and bottom.
So we decide to upgrade the edges of the Uke with pearloid binding.

Quick zip around with a new router bit and Bob is the atpatruus of choice!

    Nice one Brendan
Is this your first attempt at binding? Nice job

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

You made me look up a word! I so rarely have to do that.

    atpatruus (uncountable)

    One's great-grandfather's grandfather's brother.

Sweet looking uke too. That binding is gonna set it off nicely. Any colours planned?
