If possible id like to get a mini version (say 1/2 size guitar kit with one pup and a tom bridge) to make for my son. If possible how much?

You're right though Gav they're the logical first step into the world of musical instruments. I can remember having one as a wee tacker, both my kids had them from the earliest age and the beauty is they can swing em round with minimal danger to themselves or the errr.... dog.
This might just be the perpetual safety officer coming out in me but I could see someone getting hurt with a solid body mini gat, especially if it had steel strings.
