LP7 turned up in the mail today so got it home and slapped the neck in.
As per second photo (and a bit of a holy crap moment) it has been routed for 6 string pickups ( you were right Wokka) but luckily the left side is in the right alignment and when routed to suit a seven string pickup it should be near spot on. Not really much grain of any description in the cap so will go for a painted finish. Neck has a nice fit and DB knocked up a bone nut to suit.

cool Tony, so do the supplied pickups fit in the cavities or the cavities have to be widened on the bottom side by the looks. I think there may be some flame grain in the top Tony, I'd give it a wipe with a damp cloth over it.
Nice looking ES in the background.
So Tony how is the headstock configuration. 4 tuners on the bass side and 3 on the treble side ? Can you please post a pic ?
Don't think I've ever seen a 7 string LP, best of luck with the build

Not only did you get a DB nut, look closley at the finger board and you will see that it has been re profiled, sanded to 800 and re fretted.
    You lucky bugger

nice work DB, thought the fingerboard looked too smooth out of the box. Just noticed no fret dot markers. Re-fretted as well that was a big job DB !

Woks the supplied pickups were six string and still have the original pitbull pickups from the IB7 to use as comparison. The headstock is three bass 4 treble and on your advice ran a wet cloth and there is some flaming. Might reconsider staining.

DB had a look at that the neck work this arvo and most appreciative, so a second score on top of the original of a custom kit special.
