Thread: ebay fret files. any good?

    I found these on eBay, Aussie guy on the gold coast selling them. What do you reckon?

    Hi Andrew , Lots of people have there favourite crowning tools . Many people love these files with interchangeable heads. The guy is ALS been around a few years. Here's there web page.

    yeah its awesome mate, i might go through the site and get a set of the fret board protectors while i'm at it. cheers

    I bought a set of these files as shown above, but to be honest, they are pretty useless. I would recommend you save the purchase price and put it towards acquiring these. (see below)

    My recommended files are off-set so that you can work without fear of gouging your fretboard accidentally and they also get the job done in a fraction of the time it takes for the other files.

    Thanks gav. Saw the price, and I think it's a bit out of range seeing as I just bought 3 guitars and spray equipment, and it's our wedding anniversary tomorrow. I don't mind if the cheaper ones are a bit slower, just means I can't stuff necks up as quick!

    Stew mac also have an interchangeable diamond fret file...
    Has a handle like a screw driver and the head has two grades of diamond grit.
    You should only need the medium sized one for PBG kits..

    I really like these ones as they are very comfortable to use.

    There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
