Theres a new Ibanez bass that has fretted and fretless along the whole length of the fretboard so some string have frets while others dont. That bass trem looks interesting though, never seen a bass trem before.

Nope. Never seen anything like that before. Not even sure that I like the idea. Having said that, I'd still like to have a play 8-)

That looks like a Khaler Bass Trem.... DB has one coming from the good ole U S of A....
As for the fretted / fretless idea, I have been toying with that for a while, but I would do it slightly differently....
More shall be revealed in the near future

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

I know what DB's plans are but I won't reveal it. Better get onto it DB and start a new scratch bass ! At least you have a much better chance of keeping a scratch bass than a guitar !
    Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in
