Hi all,
I'm sorely tempted by the ES1GT that's on sale this week...
One question, is this guitar fully hollow like a casino or does it have a center block like a 335?

Hey Dan,
its a semi hollow body and has a centre block for the pickup routes and bridge post holes.
It is very light so I'd assume most of the body is hollow.
All wiring has to be inserted through the F holes so this is fairly difficult but doable !

Hi Wokka,
I know getting the wiring harness in would be a challenge but that doesn't seem to have stopped me drooling!
am i right in thinking that someone has devised a fiendishly clever method for getting the controls in? I'll search the forums and have a think.
must.....put.....wallet......down.....
Hey Dan,
You will find on the forums somewhere, a post by Gav about using 5mm aquarium tubing over the pot shafts. There are also some videos on youtube about this method as well. It simplifies things greatly. It's just a matter of soldering your wiring harness so that the wires arent too highly stacked on the top of the pots and then getting the pots through the f-hole in the correct order. It's fiddly, and you never get it first go, but it isn't impossible. Personally it's always a challenge but I always feel really pleased with myself when I finally get it done .
cheers,
Gav.

yer Dan, GavT is the F hole wiring guru now he must have built about 4 semi hollow bodies, have a look at his build diary for the ESB-4 bass, his wiring harness looks very neat.
I built mine about a year ago and somehow jagged the wiring 1st time
