I have had a composite Tele body hanging around for a while so I thought it might be time to build a neck for her.

Kinda over making the same ole flat headstock profile f type necks so I thought to myself what can I do that is a little different?
Off to the timber stack I go...

After rummaging around I found a length of 'Hog that looked a bit lonely... it was a reject chunck because of a rather nasty knot hole in exactly the wrong place for it to be used as a body but there was more than enough to make a neck. Oh happy joy biscuits

So I marked out the profile and routed for the truss rod.

Then I stood there staring at it and scratching my bitz wondering what to do next.
It dawned on me that I could cut a swept back headstock out of the chunk so I marked her up and attacked it with the Bandosaurus...

Next I grabbed my trusty template, screwed it down and cut the neck out and then profiled it with a bearing guided router bit.

Then on with the Tassie Blackwood finger board, dress that up and a trial fit... PERFECT!

    Next step, drink Bourbon...

    Awesome stuff DB.
I'm just about to start a neck with a headstock angle like this, so it's great to see your processes.

Your guitars are beautifully organic DB, all your edges are soft and flowing. Looks like that will be a vert comfortable neck.

    Thanx Dan

Guitars should have beautiful soft flowing lines that you want to caress, just like a Woman.
