Wokkas SG-1F in Blue

Hi all,
again started this build about 2 weeks ago so starting a build diary now.
1st pic shows the sanded body, this is a spare body from a SG-1F kit I bought for a scratch body SG project.
Second pic shows Feast Watson black stain on the cap to make the flames pop

I didn't get a photo of the black stain sanded back but next stage was 1st coat of blue stain. Wayne got this online and still won't tell me where he got it from but its a nice shade of blue, much darker than azure lagoon.
Wayne's FV-1G is in the picture with the same stain

next did a mock build test and found out the new SG-1F kits have a different neck heel and a small notch had to be cut out so the intonation will be correct

the black section of the neck heel had to be cut, and 2nd pic shows new neck position

1st pic shows headstock shape cut and 2nd pic after 3rd colour coat of the body

after 4 colour coats got 1st coat of clear on and Andyports logo on the headstock

Love the black grain. Maybe the blue dye is a colortone? Sure looks like it to my eye . Looking very sweet - two awesome builds at the same time Wokka!?! Amazing.
