Thread: Hollow body, 175 style

  1. #1
The ES-2V/T is a great kit (just look at Gav T's) but is there any chance the factory could do a hollow body version more like an actual 175, rather than just a thin semi-hollow? To me, a fat 6 string hollow body is what is missing from the PBG range. I know they wouldn't be easy to produce (body rigidity, neck attachment etc), but if the factory could do it then you could definitely pencil me in for one.

Likewise. I would love a jazzbox!

Guys, ok, I will ask, but I'm pretty sure we'll be testing the bounds of their capabilities. Making something like this has got to be an art. So, to make one for a cost that would keep the RRP uner $300 would necessitate some serious quality sacrifices. I will let you know what they can do.

something to consider here guys: a full hollow bodied 175 is a nice sound acoustic instrument on its own. Made properly, they are acoustic guitars with pickups, which might not be the case with the kit variety. If that is of no concern then that's cool too

Thanks Adam. I'm not holding my breath, but if they can make them then I would fully expect the price to be at the upper end of the PBG range. But, inline with Stan's comment, even if they can make them it may also depend on how they make them before we can decide if the kit is worthwhile for you to order/stock.

I built one of these from a kit and it is an amazing guitar to play. I would snap one up in a heartbeat if it is possible for PBG to stock them.

    Cheers,
    Gav.
