Thread: bass and six twin neck

  1. #1
    Hi folks
what I desire is a bass and sixstring twin neck, A short scale bass neck would be fine so..
Is it possible to source such a kit?
If i bought your 6/12 kit would you be able to supply a bass neck for the 12 string pocket?
I can refit hardware to get the scale length but would the pick ups be useable?
I realise its a strange request but I play in a trio where this would be really useful.
    Cheers

Kev - difficulty you'd have would be the scale length. You could go with a shorter scale, but just putting a bass neck on a guitar - gut feeling you'd have issues with the location of frets. That said, Adam is a miracle worker and I have seen dual neck bass / guitars, so I'd suggest emailing Adam@pitbullguitars.com or PMing him via Facebook on the PBG Facebook page.
    Hope that helps.

Kits like that do exist, I have seen them on eBay from overseas suppliers. Whether Adam's Chinese friends make a kit like that who knows.

Alternatively if is possible to kitbash two kits together. If you can find a copy of this book, he goes through kitbashing a Musicman style bass to a Wolfgang guitar (see second photo for the results)
