Thread: Bursting Question...

  1. #1
For my ES-1GL I'm doing a sunburst, from mahogany outer to amber inner. Ordered the burst kit from wudtone, and a mahogany kit for the back/neck. The mahogany kit came with the deep color base coat, and the "top" color, but the burst kit only came with the mahogany and amber top coats...

So, when I do the burst, for the areas where the mahogany is going to go, should I do the base coat first? or just use what came in the kit??

    Thanks!

Mcgraw by top coat do you mean clear gloss or base colour coat? I'd use the deep colour coat first and if deep coat wasnt supplied use the base coat

Sorry, not sitting in front of it now, so couldn't remember the names...the top coat was the base color coat...so there was the deep, the base, and the clear coat.

Not all colours need two lots of paint! . Some are quite capable on their own.
