Hi all, we have a few spare kit bodies lying around from building scratch bodies so a mate had a brilliant idea to build a wall clock. This body was already coated in golden rod so couple of coats of clear and a bit of routing and it's now our workshop clock. We put a neck in to see how it looks. If anyone has an old strat neck they don't want I'd be keen to make an offer, we'd cut off the neck at about 12th fret so its not too big.
Here's a pic showing routing to fit the clock mechanism and a hole behind to access the battery and clock winder, small wood mounts for the pickup covers to sit on. The next pic with scratchplate on, and next pic with neck in place

Pic of how it looks on the workshop wall, and yesterday I cut the top part of a pickup cover so it sits over the clock mechanism. The number markers aren't very evenly spaced, put that down to lack of light (I had no power for 7 hours Friday) and a few drambuie lubricants for the operators ! haha
Pity the decal blistered a bit because the body had already had 2 or 3 clear coats on it. Lesson for next time sand it back to colour coat. Next clock we build will have a decal logo twice the scale.
