    Oh wow... Just wow!!!

So I got home from school today and saw a big box on my bed... Found out it was the good ol' ST-1 kit, from someone awesome (not going to name names here)!!!

First impressions are fantastic! All parts are there, body only has tiny little dents in the curves, absolutely brilliant like always!!!

But there is only one problem, I looked at the neck and saw a neat crack / scratch on the first and second frets, then found another large scratch on frets 9-12!

Pics will be up soon, oh and colour choice is a nice red body with a clear neck, maybe even a hint of yellow

Great to see you back in the "My Build Diary", Pest.
I'm sure the red strat will be a cracker!

    Cheers

@Andy: Yeah, I had this build on my mind for a while now, in my head it looks brilliant!
@Woks: Haha, yeah, I was hard at work studying for a maths exam, but I'm so happy to be back now!!
The cracks don't look too serious, I'll ask DB and probably Gavmeister about it soon.

    Hey Pest,

Congratulations! A pitbull box is always the best kind of surprise. I'm sure the red strat will be killer. Can't wait for the build to get going! Let's see those obligatory 'unboxing' photos!!

    cheers,
    Gav.

oh the cracks are on the fingerboard, I was thinking the actual frets were cracked. Looks like alot of filler and glue. Might be worth trying to sand these out and may need refilling with some dark brown timbermate

    Hi Pest

I did reply privately. Think the fretboard may have had too much sun / heat. Agree with Wokka, grab some Timbermate, then carefully sand between the frets. You might need to get rid of the glue first though. Looking forward to seeing another build from you young man now that the exams are finished!

Yeah, I did a bit of sanding to remove the glue, but the board, even the whole kit hasn't seen direct sunlight at all! The sun has been on the opposite side of the house to my windows, I found the cracks straight away after unboxing!

Also, what colour Timbermate is best for rosewood?
