Hi all, I received the TL-1TH kit yesterday and am happy with the lack of filler/cracks and appears to have little or no glue near the binding, I've never owned (or played) a Telecaster guitar in the 23+ years I've been playing (don't send me to the naughty corner Adam ! haha)
Adam needs to stop having these Sunday specials I am too weak to resist a bargain.
I have many wudtone colours to choose from so I'm putting it out there to the community to suggest colours for top and bottom/sides:
golden rod, azure lagoon, burning sun, cherry flamenco, hot auburn, amaranthine. Some of these colours are a bit low but the pickguard takes up a fair bit of the top so should have enough in all those colours and I've given ama a good kaning lately so won't use that.
Open to suggestions on colours please forumites ?

I reckon Azure Lagoon would go well with the pearloid pickguard. Personally, I would love to try and replicate one these bad boys.

Nice Wokka. I would also love one of these kits. From the colours you listed, I would go with hot auburn with gold hardware.

    cheers,
    Gav.

Cheers for your input Pablo and Gav, that pic of the Tele looks amazing Pablo
I am swaying toward azure top and will see what matches sides/bottom. My ash strat is in azure and dark green and blue is my favorite colour.
Gold hardware could be a good option Gav, may have to look online for some !!

I ended up staining the top azure after a coat of white left over from a surfer girl kit to acentuate the grain. Early days but will experiment more

That's going to look really nice Woks.

Like you, my TL-1TH was my first ever Tele. And although not your classic Tele configuration it still sounds great with all standard parts. Very nice for those warmer, rounded Jazz/Blues tones.

Now you'll have to get a real Tele kit to complete the collection. I know I did

I think I'm going to have to stop looking at your posts Wokka. You obviously have too much time and too much fun. They're all looking great.
Now that I've almost finished the Matriarch I'm going to have to stop for a while cos I don't have a shed (all builds have been on the back deck) and Mackay is jumping headlong into the wet season. So I'm gonna have to wait till the seasons over. Maybe I will keep an eye on you and consider these as my pseudo builds. Just don't rub it in!

Hi, got a 2nd coat of azure on the top and tried out burning sun on the sides/back, will give it another coat to see if I like the colour blend, might be too orange for the blue top but it may grow on me.
Also included in the first pic is the 2nd marri wall clock Popeye sanded and stained yesterday and cut a veneer to cover the mechanism

Looks neat Woks, I feel like a few Tele kits myself, Strats mess with my playing style way too much IMO
