Turn your Strat into a Humbucker they do Precision to Jazz Bass too

Hi Guys a friend of mine recommended this product it's a selector switch that changes the centre setting of your strat setup to humbuckers, or a telecaster setting, depending on what switch you choose to buy No pre amp or battery needed. I've ordered one I'll let you know how it goes.

sounds interesting Kimball, very interested to hear about the results, I see they are well priced, if they make a single pickup sound like a humbucker that could be a good option

Based on a quick look at the product, this appears to be a parametric equaliser device with a number of preset tones. As for the price, I'm not offering any opinion,but I'm quite sure that parametric EQ is probably available as a stompbox, and certainly as an external rackmount - with unlimited adjustment rather than presets.

I have such a circuit built into an old strat copy, thanks to my father who is an electronics whiz with many years experience in repairing amplifier and electrics for local performers. He also gave me a second unit, about the size of a cigarette packet that can be worn on a belt or guitar strap.

Parametric EQ is used to highlight a band of frequency to impart a desired tonal effect to the sound. A good circuit will allow you to vary the pitch, intensity and width of the highlighted "notch". In a guitar, this allows you to emulate the sound of another guitar as is claimed on the product website. In practice, it takes a fair bit of playing around to get the tone you want.

Hey Wokkaboy,Well the switch has just arrived , I'm waiting on another switch so I can switch between normal centre pickup up setting , and the humbucker sound. For $39.00 thought I'd give it a try . As I said it was recommended by a good friend John Benson who makes fabulous pickups in US. He hand winds his own pickups .if you have any questions ask him ,he's most helpful.
