Thread: Getting a solid black finish

    Hi all,

I'm planning on getting myself a BC-1, and want to put a solid black finish on it. I've used Wudtone on my first Pit Bull kit, and can't see one of their products giving me the finish I'm after. Would anyone be able to suggest some paints that'd give a solid black, glossy finish? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Get some wood primer then off to autobahn for some gloss black is my guess... All the best

Thanks for the advice. Would it be best to go with an acrylic finish?

    Hi There,
I am currently building a BC-1 in gloss red. You can see the process I have used in this thread:

    Basically:
    Septone Acrylic Primer Filler
    PowerPlus Acrylic Top Coat
    Septone Acrylic Clear Coat

I think I did around 6 coats of each. Top tip - sand sand sand...

Yeah I saw this thread after I posted mine. I'm thinking I'll copy your process step-for-step. Thanks
