After a successful recent build of a flying 'V' i decided to build another courtesy of my tax refund deal with Adam.

The kit arrived (1 of 3) and i remember opening the previous kit and being delighted with the binding and how striking it was with the flamed maple cap.

Opened this kit with the same excitement......but.....what's this?

Damn! The binding hasn't been glued properly! Moan, groan, curse, poor kit what do they think I am? A guitar repairman/builder?

Actually yes....i am a guitar builder, in fact we all are! So this should be easy to fix up and it is.....if you know how.

Here is what you need to do.

Some tape and some glue as well as a razor blade will make life easier.

Tarzan Grip is perfect for this job!

Open the binding to allow the glue to go into the space between the body and the binding. Force the glue into this gap using the blade as a spreader.
Once completed tear off some strips of tape and attach these to the side of the guitar, stretch them and then attach while still stretched to the cap.....this should ensure that the binding is pulled into position. Check this and adjust if necessary.

Now that it is done, leave for three days and then peal off carefully. You should now have a "good as new" binding job!
