My Ricky is almost painted at this stage. ot Auburn back and sides and Golden Rod top.
I didn't like the thin cap so I made it look thicker by cutting a templated 'f' and inserting it into the existing one on the Ricky.

Cool. Really striking contrast between the face and in-dent/sides.
You'll have to show us how to make the cap look thicker around the "f".

Sounds good to me! Has yours still got its frets?Quote from dingobass on June 9, 2013, 21:48
Nice one Gav
will post dome pics of the Riccy I am building soon.
Time for a Riccy off!
The fretboard on this one was sensational. Set up to do the fret job, did all the markings, gave the fret a soft run with the block and it was done! Reckon some one at the factory must have known what they were doing!

Oh my god, that Ric looks great ALREADY!!!!
Updated progress on the Ricci

The contrast is striking and beautiful all at once! Nice stuff!

I'm not convinced with the pickguard.......

Maybe a subtle tortoise shell to carry through the colour from the back and sides etc? Perhaps do some colour tests in Photoshop,
Scott.
