Thread: My Les Paul birthday cake

  1. #1
Hi folks, although I haven't posted here for a while, I couldn't resist sharing these photos of my AWESOME 50th birthday cake with you. My wife secretly organised this with an extremely talented friend of ours, who obviously excelled herself. Everything except the strings (which are actually household twine) is edible - the body, neck and all the "hardware".

I have a feeling that the Pest and a couple of others here will be just as blown away as I was when I first saw it. I feel truly privileged that someone went to this extent for trouble for me. Long after the rest of my party is forgotten, I will still remember this cake.

Wow, that is just incredible. Such detail... the two piece bridge, knobs, pickups, scratchplate, binding... they clearly went to a lot of effort to get the details right. And that sunburst finish! This is the second guitar cake we've had this week, so clearly we need a Guitar Cake of the Month category.
    Cheers,

    Adam

Dean I am totally blown away by the detail of this cake, as if you need to make a sunburst Les Paul any more edible but the cake builder has more than excelled !

There's even a plectrum wedged into the fourth fret! Incredible!

In fairness, I should also acknowledge that the lady who decorated the cake got a lot of assistance from her husband, who is possibly even more passionate about guitar building than any of us here at the Pitbull community.
