This is a refinished kit Strat, with a loaded Blacktop Strat pickguard from ebay.

The swirl was achieved using umpteen gallons of water and a kilo of borax, and dribbling enamel paints on the surface to get that marbling look. There's heaps of demos on YouTube about this, but I would strongly counsel doing many many tests first. By no means is this swirl perfect, but for my purposes I was very pleased with the outcome.

Finished with 6 coats of clear polyurethane. It's not strung up as it is yet to be wiredup. I just wanted to show it off quickly!

Reckon it's possible Callum but at the price of a quality product like Wudtone versus cheaper automotive paint - I don't think you'll get too many trying out your hypothethis!!

Is Wudtone oil-based? That seems to be the main criteria for swirly paints.

Wudtone is oil and wax based...

Might consult the oracle to see if it is possible, but I doubt it.

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
