a photo shows how the kit came bare about 3 weeks ago, picked up wudtone Friday and got 3 base coats of auzure lagoon on the flying V, photos don't do justice how good it looks the colour is very striking. Next to the FV is the back of the ES kit with back/sides in mahogany

    plenty more updates to come
    Cheers Wokka

These v kits are the best looking of the new range in my opinion. I want one. Nice colour choice.

I agree Pablo. I remember when Phil W and I first opened up this kit, we both gasped. The finish on the top, the binding, the sheer size of it...

I'm honestly surprised that we have any of these left in stock, I thought they would have sold in the first few days. Maybe the $199 puts people off, but imagine what sort of guitar you could end up with for around $200!!

    Cheers,

    Adam

    That looks *censored* amazing Wokka!.

Makes me want to unpack the one I have here at Dingobass Central and disappear into the Man Cave and start on it.

Honestly, for the price it is a great Guitar!

I also harbour a desire to have one of these, probably ever since I saw Lenny Kravitz with one in his "Are You Gonna Go My Way" video, but ... priorities, priorities ... gotta get my Red Special first, then convince Mrs G that I actually need (not want!) that many guitars. Could be tough.

My kids actually go to a school with a strong music program, and a name beginning with "V", and I've thought about getting one of these, finishing it in the school colour (turquoise, so a Wudtone mix of Emerald and Blue Lagoon might hit the mark!) and donating it to them as the band guitar. But then, they have a BYO guitar policy, because nobody respects common property. *sigh*

    One day.

That is a great idea Glenn. Pity so many kids these days don't give a rats about other peoples stuff...

Tough one, isn't it, trying to convince the other half that we need to collect Guitars.... they just don't see that it is a deep primal need for us!

Although as my Miss Fiona says, she is much happier that I collect Guitars and not guns or stray women

Wokka, you are a mad genius!

Just spotted the innovative neck rest.... Another use for an empty ice cream carton!

haha yer DB I was in a rush to head out before that photo of the raw kit, didn't have time to find the correct width wood offcuts for the neck to rest on so the ice cream container worked a treat.

Sad news yesterday worked out I applied the wrong wudtone finish (I applied base coat instead of deep colour and on the ES kit) so I've half rubbed back the flying V, hopefully finish sanding it back tonight. I tell you 3 coats of base coat is hard work removing the colour !
Hopefully photo update tonight of the 1st coat of deep colour azure

Hi all, got the FV rubbed back to almost bare wood, was hard work but worth it, here's the 1st coat of deep color coat, think it looks darker in colour than the wrong base coat I 1st applied. Should have enough for another light deep colour. Stay tuned will look at the ES tomorrow night and try sort out the glue/binding dramas

    cheers Wokka
