Hi all. Just looking into purchasing and building an ES-1.![]()
It's a really popular kit. Hope it goes as well for you as it did for this member ;-)

Hi and welcome.
Note that the ES-1 kit can have issues with too flat a neck angle, making it impossible to get a good action. Some seem OK, but both of the ones I built suffered from it.
One I resolved using a different bridge (a Göldo Lowrider), whilst the other I had to file away the bottom of the kit bridge and cut much deeper slots in the saddles.
Some can suffer from a misplaced centre block so the stop tailpiece post holes are partly air. This is a return for another kit issue. They shouldn’t go out like this but they do.
Apart from that, it’s a nice kit
Hey there. It's awesome that you're considering getting an ES-1. I've had mine for a few months now, and I'm loving the experience. The build process was pretty straightforward, and I found it to be a really enjoyable project. Plus, once it's up and running, the performance is pretty impressive for its price point. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about the process or anything else related to the ES-1! Good luck!

My best advice is dont be in a hurry and ask as many questions as you need to, there are forum members here that are an immense help and very willing to give experienced advice, they have helped me a lot already.
What i like about these kits is they dont cost a lot of money and you can get good results.
