You could always add some 'T' & 'D' holes. The D could just be an outline or you could have a solid centre by either having some thin connecting legs (probably quite fragile) or as a stand-alone piece on a block glued to the back.

Take 1 and 2:
As a test of the scratchy concept, I have started two pine wood bodies (glued, sanded and rough cut). The top one is for a solid body, the lower one is for a thinline. Note: The jigsaw was not terribly happy about cutting them out!
Also started the ply top and back for the thinline. Routed the sides, f(worm)-hole and control route.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.
The F/worm hole needs some very careful attention to its design. I'm sure the outer edges are following a nice even curve, but the shape of the cross-struts at the ends is currently rather uneven and making it look rather ragged(?) - probably not the right word but a general sense of 'not quite right'.
I realise that these are probably initial cuts and need working on, but it doesn't take much to turn a good design into a less than ideal one.
I don't know about the ragged worm hole, but the thinline back won't work... it's a lefty!!!![]()

Making the world a better place; one guitar at a time...
I like the worm holes, they're very organic.
