4-wired, naturally. But I Probably won't end up doing much crazy switching, probably just series/parallel.

And assuming nothing spontaneously screws all of my plans up, am going to be heading in tomorrow to work on stuff. Huzzah!

Whee much progress was made today.

So first off, I didn't take pics of this last time, but I had to pull out a few frets and replace them, cos some smaller fretwire ended up mixed in, and threw things off. Not too big of a deal but the ironwood got a tiny bit ripped up in a couple of spots unfortunately

Also got to see the tuners Matt ordered for me, and they look excellent. Hipshot, locking and open-geared

So first thing to do was get this neck pocket routed out

The little channel I routed for the electronics ended up popping through this end, but that's no problem

Had to file a smidge off the corner on the Bass side of the neck, as the router bit didn't get all the way in to the corner, but it fits there now

Not a 100% perfect fit, but it's not bad at all

After that, lined up the bridge pieces, and set out the locations for the pickup routs

And then, whoa who would have guessed, ROUTED THEM!! And popped the pickups back in, and all the bridge saddles on to mock it up

And that's where I'm at now. Super close to done, Matt reckons 2 more lessons and it'll be done!! I think maybe one more? But it'll be damn close to done by then anyway. I'm also going to try and get 2 lessons in next week, so HOPEFULLY!! It'll be done next week!!

looks awesome B'Lark great progress. So by lessons you mean your mate Matt is helping you with the build or is all this your tidy work ?

Will you be able to reach the 24th fret ok ? Or are you gifted with long fingers?

Nah I mean lessons. Doing them with the Australian Guitar Making School, and Matt runs the classes in Newy. I spose I do end up doing a lot of the physical work (wouldn't be learning much if I wasn't :P ) but he's providing the guidance (and the tools haha)

Nah, I just won't end up playing that far up, I'm not much of a shredder honestly, and I'll mostly be playing fingerstyle stuff

sounds good B'Lark sure you have learnt a ton building your first scratchy. Next one will be easier with the knowledge and experience you have learnt from this one

Yea for sure. My next one's gonna be fairly simple by comparison too, so that'll help make it a ton quicker as well.
