Looking great Nick. That neck colour is certainly the balls. I like the amount of figure you still have visible through the body colour. Should look great with the clear coats on.
Personally, the shower recess is the perfect place for drying guitar bodies! Your photo looked so familiar that I couldn't help thinking it was one of mine.

Thanks for the support lads. The neck is feeling super nice - really smooth. I ended up sanding through to 800 grit + steel wool so it's nice and quick.
And yes the alcove works entirely too well :P
She's really looking the aquatic part now. Great work.
This axe must have an affinity for damp places (most of us do if ya think about it)
Here's a mock up shot before I get the body ready for clears. Getting VERY excited now. I just want to play it already!
The neck is looking a little blotchy - should I sand back and build up again or do another coat?
First coat of Tru. Shiny and raising the grain already! I'm not sure if it's my phone's camera or my computer's screen but it seems a lot more washed out than it is. IRL the neck is a bit more yellow.

I'm using tru oil on a neck right now for the first time too. Damn it makes that maple pop.
