youve got it now Devon, silver on then the top coat.
Candy can be really tricky to get right with rattle cans.
The risk will be putting on too much purple at once and losing some of the candy effect. Try and build it up with thin , even coats. When it looks right STOP. Leave it for a day or so and then look at it again, if it seems ok, leave it. If you overdo the purple it won't be as good.

    Good luck!

Stan I went overboard yesterday and it turned out how I wanted but half way through it had this like silver burst effect and that's where I should have stopped.

I know woks it was like just one more coat and then bam not so cool anymore.
You guys are gonna crack up laughing but I sanded it down again... And re chromed it.
A bit anal I know haha

Good on you Devon for sanding it back. No point building a guitar you aren't happy with

But check out this sexy beast... ran out of candy coat. one more thin coat and it'll be perfect.
Not sure what I should do about the head stock. I might redo that as well.

In the next chapter, clear coating. I'll probably skip over pics with that as pretty boring. But will post again when I get work on the decals and glitter patterns. Stay tuned.

PS. I am going to ditch spray cans in future. Am going to get myself a compressor and a high performance spray gun.
    1. On balance the cost of can are expensive. Especially the anodised purple with all my screw ups.
    2. Spray can noozles pretty random and doesn't create mist fine enough for this kind of work.

    Nice work, Devon

As far as spray guns are concerned, all you need is HVLP touch up spray gun.
Should be able to pick one up for around the $60- 80 mark.

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
