Pedalboard Build
Nice, kinda looks like a black cherry. Ah! There you go....I hereby unofficially named this build 'The Black Cherry'!
Yeah, Black Cherry does suit. Progress on this one is painfully slow. The weather just sucks for spraying. I'm finding if I sneak out early in the morning and do a very thin coat its OK. So I'm just slowly building it up. Its coming along OK, just not fast enough!
Still waiting on some stuff I ordered for the Steampunker and my Washburn so building activity has pretty much ground to a halt. So annoying as I'm on holidays with the house to myself at the moment.
Ah well, at least I get to play my other guitars nice and loud.

Yeah I am fully appreciative of it!
I rarely get time off during the year, I work 2 jobs from home and carry the lions share of the housework (my wife shift works), so having a bit of time where I am not constantly picking up after everyone or being a taxi service is awesome.
It also lets me do things like paint and renovate - much easier to make progress when you don't have to work around people![]()

Man I fricken hate it when the weather stops progress !
That colour is looking pretty nice though.
Nice and dry the last couple of days so I think I'm good with the clears. I'll let it dry and settle back and then cut it right back and polish.
Learnt a few things on this finish to be put into practice when I do the Steampunker - which will be a partially natural wood finish. I did no grain fill as it was maple and bass wood I figured I'd get away with it. I think I will once all the clear is cut back, but I could have saved myself some mucking around and got it a lot flatter I think.
Also didn't really enjoy the fountain pen ink staining. I think it probably would have been ok, but I will stick to the right products for the job next time.
Can't wait to wire it up with the Lace pickups and see how they sound.

Dry enough to handle, but I'll probably give it another few days to keep hardening. There are quite a few clear coats on there so the orange peel will cut out no problems. The way the colour shifts from black inside to the dark cherry outside is just awesome, but very difficult to photograph! Trying very hard to be patient.....
