Can't beat Slash! Hey Kurt, did you catch him at Soundwave this year? Bloody hell it was an awesome show mate, I'll find a photo I took (Seymour Duncan used the same photo as I know one of the OFFICIAL photographers and he used a photo from my phone, perfect moment during the Sweet Child solo )

Yeah man I caught him here in Brisbane, it was sweet! I managed to get a good picture of him using the double neck for anastasia! Pm me dude and we will talk more about slash instead of hijacking another thread 😝

Do I really have to wait five days until I can put a second coat on?

In Sydney right now you may have to wait longer. Cold and damp isn't a good combination.

    BANG!

Single coat of stain last weekend.

Today went over with intensifier 3 times in one sitting.

Glad I only did one coat of stain!

Neck got its final oil coat as well.

Next week top coat on top.

Following week oil on back and sides.

I was going to oil back and sides today, but while masking the beading I found the stain coat was coming off if the tape touched top - so decided to finish and seal the top before starting on the back and sides.

Mate, I am rapt in the way the colour and flame have come together so far despite the learning curve I am on.

But slowly slowly and I will get there.

I doubt it will be a GOTM but I am really happy with it and what I am learning.

    Hey Woks,

I've finally decided to "let the 'hog be 'hog" (thanks Pest) and go natural with "The Oil that cannot be named".

The mahogany neck has come up really well, so I am cautiously optimistic that the body and sides will too.
