Thanks Mark, it was a custom Dingotone colour of "Rosewood". I asked Dingobass to mix it up for me to go on an Pitbull Ash body

Aaagh! Can't get Dingotone here in California. I'll look for something similair (for my next build—GR 1SF semi-acoustic Gretsch style).

No worries Mark. sorry about that. Just remember to steer away from furniture stains....they are very lacklustre on guitars. Dingotone is an oil based dye, but you can still achieve great results with colourtone dyes which are water based dyes.

Reminds me to do an update. This is after two stainless coats of Bondi blue and colourless on that sides and back

Hi Andy, that looks amazing. I'm just about to start my first kit, so please excuse my ignorance, but what does timbermate do? is it like a sanding sealer? thanks

Yhep Adamc. Timbermate is a waterbased wood putty used for grain filling. You can buy it from Bunnings (if you are in Australia). It comes with an array of tinting, I used ebony timbermate on this build which pops the grain with a grey and black filler.
