So then we decided to rout a couple more holes. Because.....

We're putting a carbon fibre rod in the neck on each side of the truss rod for tons of stability. Just to help out because of being a 7-string and a fairly long scale length on the bass end.

Then it was time to glue the headstock veneers on. This was all basically the same deal as last time, and I did forget to grab a couple of extra pictures towards the end. So yea, thin Maple veneer between Jarrah and QLD maple because why not, it looks cool. And that's all!!

Next week will be sorting out the fretboard, maybe some other stuff if we're lucky. ALSO if I'm lucky, I'll be getting some Bloodwood to use for the fretboard!! There was a piece hanging around in the workshop, and we had been talking about what I was going to use earlier, so I thought that would be cool, and since the Jarrah will come up reddish too, it should fit the colour scheme of the guitar overall. Also it just felt really nice to hold

Nice progress. Routers still scare me even though I've been using them for two years. That being said I love the sound of the router powering up and down.

I've only used the little palm routers and they are nerve wracking even with templates.

Haha I think using a router with one hand is much scarier than with two hands!

Ah, no....we don't rout one handed...we use both hands and as many guides as is practical without getting in our own way!

Oh I thought the idea of a palm router meant you can hold it in your palm. That being said I saw a guy route with one hand on the router and the other holding the body, without clamps! Daredevil!

Yeah, no thanks, I will still clamp and use two hands, it's only going to take one hard spot or small knot to whip either the body or the router out of your control.

Daredevil? Wanker more like it. Its that sort of idiot that ends up with his gizzards wrapped around the router bit....

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

I whole heartedly agree. There's plenty of ever-present danger in life, without going and manufacturing any extra through stupidity.
