@Brendan, there has been a few really rockin Christian bands. Years ago one of my old childhood mates was going through the Anglican Seminary college and his fav band was an outfit called Petra.... Those guys could really rock the house down!

@MaxAxe: Uh-oh, now there's pressure to perform. Jeez, making my life hard mate. :P

@Bargeloobs: Lucky my stripes are curved, and not straight - can't have people thinking I'm supporting Stryper, if they are as bad as you say (I'm too young to have ever even heard of them).

@Gav x 2: Thanks for the suggestion RE decal. Do you have some deets for me to get in contact with Andy to rustle up a decal?
Yeah I was only a kid myself when I first became aware of Stryper back in their heyday but they were always the subject of much ridicule being that I was quite a staunch metalhead.
Yellow and black is one of my favorite colour combos so (Stryper comparison aside) I think you're onto a winner right off the bat. Just be aware that if you're gonna use a vinyl cut decal their inherent thickness means they take a bit of "burying" with whatever clear you're using so just something to consider, coz you really don't want the decal sitting proud of the surface (especially on the top)
@lawry - They're still active you say??? Shit that is sad.

    Hey Brodie.
I know this thread has gone off on some weird tangent but we're not in anyway uninterested in your Wasp. Ya just gotta get used to us. When something catches our fancy we tend to run with it. Please keep us updated on your build cos I, for one, DO want see your interpretation of this guitar.
    Cheers man.

Yhep.... It is not at all unusual for threads to get hijacked :P

Keep us updated with progress, you just never know where the conversation is going to go but rest assured you will always learn heaps from the ramblings of us older guys.

@Lawry: I never expected anything different. I've been a ghost on the forums for some time now, so I knew what I was getting myself in for. I actually quite enjoy creating interest and conversation through my work, so please feel free to hijack my build thread any time.

@DB: I am certainly hoping to pick up some great pearls of wisdom from you older guys over the coming journeys of my builds.

On the subject of my actual build, today will be spent outside losing my arms with some paper, a damp rag and a big chunk of wood. Updates to come.

Lawry - I've got 3 young daughters - so unfortunately have seen more of the Hannah Montanna movie than is good for my mental health - both were in it, but thankfully the 30 seconds or so that I've seen of the movie didn't have Billy singing.
