nice one Honeybadger would love to see some pics of the kit you scored. Thought you said it had a quilted maple veneer earlier ? unless it's a custom order. So your kit has 2 humbuckers ? The body should be alder and the neck maple. If it is mahogany it has a light brown colour to it, much darker than maple.

Hi HB, resolution has to be lower than 1500 each side of the image and below 1MB in size.
Just resize it and Windows should tell you the new size and resolution

haha I haven't been called Fozzy yet bwhahahhaha cheers

wow that's bizaar Honeybadger, that neck does look mahogany with maple fingerboard, you can see the difference in colour. Some nice quilt what I can see.

    Colour Match

Issue I will have is the neck timber is a darker shade then the body timber. Since this is a stain, with a French polish finish need to balance the amount of neck to body stain finish. There is some really nice grain on the neck. Finish will be Bondi blue. I also don't like the neck to be vanished, I sand down smooth my necks Ala John Mayer. SRV. So I have a Mahogany Neck with nice grain with a Maple fret board. And I wanted this to be a beginners build.....

so HB will the neck and body be bondi blue ? you will just have to apply it and see what the colour difference is like and make adjustments from there. Another option is shape your headstock and with the offcuts do some test stains of the bondi on the mahogany to see how the colour compares to the body. If it is too far out you may consider a clear neck mabe ?
