Hey Devon coming along nicely. Might pay to put all six tuners on to make sure there is enough meat to hide them from the front and enough meat for tuner screws

Found it! It was Axeman, and I could only find the build diary for the second one, which was incomplete, but it had this photo on the first one.

Oh wow Fretty, that build takes me back to LP days....
I actually do find it quite nostalgic to go through old build diaries, especially when I went back through the LP diary.... Then I tend to look at myself as a builder now and see how bloody far I have come!
I hadn't noticed how "straight" those edges were. I blame the lateness into the night but thanks for pointing it out and yeah definitely needs some more work. Then got me thinking, and the more I think about it the more I don't like the sharpness on the edges, might add a small bevel to match the body.
With the small bevel it is really easy to overdo it, I'd make a few passes and then look, make sure your lines are even and DO NOT go over them!
Ok,
Left top most horn on the head stock was kind of skinny and not round like the right side. So used wood filler to fatten it out a bit. Let it dry then sanded
Then applied two coats of under coat, giving about a day in between each.
and wet sanded down second coat with 600 grit. I think wet sanding is my new favourite thing in the world. Was pretty ecstatic how smooth it felt and didn't have to deal with all the dust getting stuck in the sand paper.
Next went to the auto shop and grabbed a purple metallic paint. Ummmmmmm yes the paint job is pretty umm fraked, need to work on my technique. Didn't expect it to run so quickly.
I'll have to do some heavy duty sanding before next coat.
As it turns out, I need to wait seven days for it to set fully
Actually I stand corrected. The paint seems to be fairly forgiving as it dries out.
