I reckon that's brilliant, turning a PBG-2 into what I 'spose must be a pretty obscure guitar. The basic requirements were obviously in place, but you are doing a really magic job of transmogrifying it.
This is one of the most interesting projects being undertaken ATM says me.
Nice idea not to slavishly copy the Astroboy. I love to see builders breaking the mold.
That colour is looking a little bit awesome too . . .

Thanks very much everyone. Should point out it has taken about 5 weeks to get this far, so no Gav Turner level of output here
Max, you are the King of interesting builds - with Morticia and the Redback, among others - the rest of us just wish we had your creative vision (well I do anyway).

Grant that is the neatest cavity taping ever!

Some friendly advice with the ink:
When you think it is right, leave it alone.
Don't try for just that little bit more.
There comes a point where rubbing in more ink starts to remove what is underneath once the timber reaches saturation.
I ended up doing my sister's LP body twice thanks to that.
No biggie, but who likes extra work and sanding? ....

Thanks for the heads-up Stan. I did use the offcuts as test pieces for the ink and they did take a second coat, but will still be careful.
As for the tape, I wanted to keep the neck pocket clean and ended up taping up all the routes except the one for the Floyd Rose style trem.
    Thanks again

I found a couple of coats was fine as well, but if I fiddled with it too much, it went south on me. Youve done well

Thanks Fretty. Just an update on where it's at. Changed plan and tried wipe on poly for top coats. First couple coats pulled colour off body even after wiping over to make sure there was no excess ink. No big deal but now there are spots that aren't as evenly covered as I would like. Still got more poly coats to go.
