I think that's the best top I've seen! That said - digging the desert colours on this one - eau naturale (colourless) for me...
That and chrome... knobs and pup surrounds... ditch the rhythm / treble switch cover thing...

With that gorgeous top, I would be going clear....actually I did go clear on mine! Use colour on the back and sides../<\\/p>[]<\\/p>/Quote from lunaticthighs on July 8, 2014, 20:25

Really awesome looking kit....clearly sent out to you from my private collection in error. Please could you return it to.....![]()
On a serious note so torn right now. I have some cherry flamenco wudtone coming but after thinking about it really thinking of going golden rod or even emerald isles.
Definitely gonna grain fill this one first too. So deserves a smooth finish.

Just saw that pic of the top, all I can say is just WOW

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what colour timbermate would be best to grain fill this top?
It depends a lot on what effect you are going for. Darker (eg Walnut) will make the filled pores stand out much more than a lighter filler like Maple. Not a specific answer I know, sorry..
cheers,
Gav.

Not sure really. Just wanted a smooth finish without masking any of the figure in the wood. Keeping it as natural as possible I would think./<\\/p>[]<\\/p>/Quote from gavinturner on July 10, 2014, 23:23

Done a bit of shaping on the headstock. Not traditional I know but wanted something simple but with a bit of style. Sure it's not everyones up of tea but I like it.
