Thread: Tjilpi - Old fella - LP-1M

Well, after a lot of sketching I think I have reached a decision on a Krank Guitars headstock shape. A mix of a few different ones.

This isn't the printable version as I have discovered a few of my measurements are out. Bah! Another day. Plus I am still trying to work out how to round off some of the corners.

I have also started cutting out a few templates for my scratch DC junior special build. I will add this to the non-PB gear once I have achieved a bit more.

Looks good, Kane. Individual and familiar all in one.

    Thanks.

I am a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to the guitars I love, however I needed something to call my own but not too far removed from the original.

Once I have a few scratch builds under my belt I may try a complete new guitar design, again it will probably be similar to others but fine changes. Pickup configuration is the hard one. Love a single coil in the neck, a humbucker somewhere and I haven't heard a P90 scream yet (not in my hands anyway). How do I get all three pickups in one guitar without looking ugly?

Seymour Duncan P-rails will get you all three pickups in one pickup.

That headstock design looks great! I wish I'd found that when I was building my LP.

    Barg - thanks

Gav - isn't quite round enough but close. Scratch build, need more time in the garage. Found a nice slab of wood that should be good for 2 necks. No idea what it is.

Pablo - they look the goods, now I just need to find a forum that breaks them down. That way I can build them myself like my other guitars to date.

Timsan - honored to think the shape is appealing and you would use it. Might make up a pdf template when I need it. I
