I might spray a tiny patch of the spot and wait for it to cure, and see what it looks like, as if the glue does not show through the thin coat of paint, I would be happy with that - I am sure I will probably sand it off and repaint it in years to come anyhow!!
As long as it looks right now, that is my main concern, If the paint doesn't take properly I can always just sand the tiny patch off and scratch the glue loose then.
