    Looks rather intense in this light, but imagine the rough MDF pickguard template as this colour scheme.

    I trust you have put the dog-ear in place when shaping the template? They take up more space than you think. Had to reshape the scratchplate on my SG Jr a few times to get it right.

    Sure did and I imagine I will have to fine tune it once the dogear finds its final resting spot. That's why I referred to it as the rough template

    Yes, definitely more Canary than TV in that pic! At least you'll never loose it!

    Re: sanding, I would explicitly use the term "strip sanding" when fixing runs. I'm sure you know what I mean.

    Whilst I know what it means, a mental picture of McCreed sanding whilst naked still appeared in my mind. I'll have to go and lie down to recover.
